History Of Persatuan Kebajikan Haemodialisis St.Anne BM.

Persatuan Kebajikan Haemodialisis St.Anne BM (to be referred as the centre), is a charitable organization. It was formerly known as Pusat Haemodialisis St.Anne BM and affiliated to the Catholic Welfare Services. The Centre is now a registered body with the ROS (Registrar of Societies).

The establishment of the Centre was motivated by the parishioners of St. Anne’s Church of Bukit Mertajam. A protem committee was formed in May 2002 to see the running of the Centre.

An interest free loan of RM300,000.00 was taken from the parish in year 2002 to set up the Centre the loan has been settled fully in the year 2005.

Year 2002, This Centre started operation with 6 dialysis machines from 9 August 2002 with 1 patient.

In the beginning Centre operate on our own without any financial aid from the Church, but later we were allowed to place a donation box in the shrine to secure some donation (+-RM10k) and that we are thankful towards the Church for their kind contribution.

Year 2011, we expand the Centre from 2 shop lot to 4 shop lot. We now have 18 dialysis machines. Each machine can treat 2 patients per day i.e. one for the morning shift and other for the afternoon shift and 2 spare machine for emergency use.

Year 2018, we have 42 renal patients receiving treatment at our Centre (33 Chinese, 4 Malays & 5 Indians).

Year 2023, we have 37 patients receiving treatment at our Centre. (31 Chinese, 1 Malay, 1 Muslim, 1 Indonesian and 3 Indian). A few have registered with us but are on the waiting list.

Our staff consist of 1 Administrator, 1 Clerk, 1 Nursing-In-charge, 5 Staff Nurse, 1 Dialysis Assistant and 1 Cleaner to run the daily operation of the Centre.
